I stumbled upon this yarn one day on line and I had to literally drop everything to find out who distributed it so we could have it at Seed Stitch!  Seriously, we’re in Salem we simply must have glow in the dark yarn.  But even if you don’t live in the Spook Capital of the world, glow in the dark yarn is great and its so cool to see all of the creative and exciting ways folks are going to use this yarn.

Now this certainly can not be considered a fine fiber, but it is a great product. It’s a 100% nylon, 250 yards per ball, knits up white when not glowing at 5.5 stitches per inch or a DK weight on a size 6.

And it really does glow in the dark.  See….

Not a great photo, but you can kind of see it glowing. Way more impressive in person I promise!

So some super cool projects with this are already in the works: a fantastic ghost pin made by Rhonda Culbert for Mazie and as a store sample and some great spider web wristlets. One customer is going to tackle the Hallowig from Knitty, fabulous!  Other ideas, stitch one or two stripes into a kids sweater, how about a dog collar, I’m thinking of a knit jack-o-lantern with glow in the dark face.  Seriously, your imagination can run wild.  You’ll get a lot of projects out of one ball because the yardage is so good and a little bit goes a long way.  If you do make a glowing creation, please send the pics to us or upload the to our Flickr page.
