We love Salem and some color inspiration

Last night was a great reminder what an amazing community Salem, MA truly is.  Despite the torrential downpours early in the day and the seemingly endless rain we’ve had over the last month, Salem came out in force for the Farmer’s Market.  Not only were people out and about but they were excited about the amazing offering from our local farmers, fishermen, and vendors and really seemed to enjoy themselves walking the streets in the drizzly weather.

I love the fact that our farmer’s market also honors our seacoast geography by also featuring local fishing vendors where you can pick up shrimp and lobster. There were so many amazing things to choose and the lush green color of the early season produce was almost psychedelic in color. The intense color inspired me so I thought I’d share the color inspiration with you again.

The intense greens of the dill, zucchini, and peas mixed with the more earthy tones of browning corn silk husk and the bits of earth left after harvest make this a delectable color palette. Yarn shown in clockwise order Rowan Scottish Tweed 015, Kid Silk Haze 577, Cascade Baby Alpaca 2429, Cascade 220 9865, and Steadfast Fibers Sahara.

Please come out and support our local farmers and vendors at the market as well as the other merchants in Salem who have committed to staying open late Thursday nights as well.
