Well we’re just back from Ohio and feeling both a little tired and energized at the same time. We spent almost 12 hours walking around a conference and trade show floor, but amazed by all the new products and colors available to us.

Picking up the program and getting tickets!
I was a bit overwhelmed when we first walked into the trade show floor. There were over 270 yarn vendors alone not to mention, buttons, books, needles…and then there were all the other needle art vendors like cross stitch and quilting. Simply mind boggling.

If it seems daunting, it was.

Outside the tradeshow floor, new products were showcased
Some highlights:
I met some amazing designers. Finally had a chance to meet Louisa Harding who’s new yarns and books are simple beautiful and just what we’d want from her next. Of course folks at SSFY already know how lovely she is from her last visit to Seed Stitch and we hope to have her again in the future.
Also spent some time with Debbie Bliss who was at the show with her daughter. Debbie has a fabulous new yarn out called Fez, which is a combination of Merino and Camel. The pattern support for it is wonderful. We also had a chance to view the projects from her new Fall magazine due out in September. Just wait!
Unfortunately due to our flight schedule we missed Jared Flood, but you are truly going to love his new book called Brooklyn done in partnership with Classic Elite. Great designs for both men and women with many of them being unisex designs. As well, there is this amazing hat pattern included in the book, who’s simple garter stitch design is kicked up a notch with an amazing decrease and construction technique. I’ve never seen anything like it.
And of course, products, products, products…..
Next steps: First, spend a little dancing around the living room with Mazie as she spent the weekend with my mom while we ventured out to Columbus. Once we’re done with our mother daughter dance party reunion, then I’ll focus my thoughts on which products we’ll bring in throughout the summer and fall.
